Because a base is a specialized way of searching the vault, and unless you teach Claude Code how to conduct that search, it cannot see what a human sees. It's not about seeing the .base file, it's about seeing the rendered results

I know, but I just hit my limits in Claude Code and Antigravity. Windsurf and Kiro are still going strong!

Remember, they did this to Windsurf after the OpenAI rumor. I see this as they are expanding their protective actions to things that are like Claude Code. Could this spell trouble for Antigravity and Cursor, don’t know. Depends on how protective they want to get.
