Claude Code vs. Codex
Users are comparing Claude Code to Codex, discussing their preferences for control, solution accuracy, local model integrations, and potential for parallel usage.
I use Codex atm, not Claude Code. Because I don't want a model that's just doing everything for me.. Too much laziness.. So I force myself to dive deep into my project and have as much control as possible by using Codex.
My current daily driver is GPT-5.2-codex high in Codex, with Opus 4.5 in Claude Code close behind. Codex is significantly better at figuring out the correct solution on its own without hand holding or cutting corners, but Claude is more fun to use and works faster.
You might like opencode more. I think they handle compaction better than Claude Code.
